Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspurs Preview (Gameweek 31 EPL 2017/2018)

Match Facts
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in 27 home league matches against Spurs
  • Spurs have surrendered the lead on each of their last 2 league visits to Stamford Bridge
  • The Blues are looking to secure back to back PL victories for the first time since last month of 2017
  • Spurs are the only team with an unbeaten PL record in 2018
  • Under Pochettino, Spurs have only 1 of their 19 away fixtures against the other established top 6 sides
Last Meetings
The last time Chelsea Crystal Palace was back in August where Chelsea won 1-2 at Wembley. The last time Chelsea played in Stamford Bridge vs Spurs, Conte's side also won 2-1. Will Chelsea win back to back this season against Spurs to maintain their hope for 4th place? or Could Spurs widen the gap between the two team? This must be really interesting.

Predicted Line Up and Scores
Caballero, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Rudiger, Alonso, Moses, Febregas, Kante, Willian, Hazard, Morata

I would put Giroud on starting line up because he can hold the ball upward and less fragile than Morata who keep diving unnecessarily although he might slower than Morata. Emerson and Zappa should both give chances. I put Cahill for Rudiger because Rudiger needs to rest for Barca game.

Chelsea 3-0 Spurs
Hazard will contribute in Chelsea Goals.

Pre Match Interview
  • Conte says checks need to be made on Courtouis and Christensen to find out their physical condition and whether they can play on sunday
  • Ross Barkley will play for our Development Squad as he continues his recovery from injury (and he did play for 60 minutes)
  • We can get close to Spurs in the table if we can win this match. Nothing is impossible and we just have to try to win every game
  • David Luiz is out for at least another 3 weeks as he continues his recovery from a knee problem. Cahill is an option in central defence IF Christensen is not fit. Ampadu is out for the season
  • Conte says that the club must be proud that Willy and Alonso made their debuts during the recent break
  • Morata has been working very well and needed to work hard. He is really fit now and ready to have an important end to the season for Chelsea (Good for him!)
